About Us

Under the Arbor Landscape Design is owned and operated by Cora & Carl Swinamer.   They have been landscaping and gardening for over 20 years and opened their Landscape Design business when they moved to St. Margaret’s Bay in 2002.

Cora holds a Certificate in Landscape Design from the University of Guelph as well as Biology and Business degrees from Dalhousie University.  She is currently completing the requirements for Landscape Industry Certification in Landscape Design (LIC Designer) from the Canadian Nursery and Landscape Association.

Carl is a craftsman, constructing various landscape features including arbors, decorative fencing and privacy screens.  He also provides his expertise and attention to detail in the installation of Cora’s designs. 

Keeping current in the industry is a priority for Cora, through continuing education and active participation in horticultural associations.  She serves on the Executive of the Atlantic Association of Landscape Designers and as a director of the Atlantic Rhododendron and Horticultural Society.

Cora enjoys working cooperatively with clients to ensure their needs are met, achieving the landscape they desire.  She puts her creativity and passion for plants to work for her clients.
